Pleeeeeze find me the garlicky quacomole dip?
ReplyDeleteI worked there another lifetime ago. It was not made with white American cheese, it is the yellow American cheese. Probably tastes the same, but just saying. It was definitely not Velvetta. The Avocado Dressing that someone
Deletementioned was very simple. It was ripe avocados (smashed well) mixed well with sour cream and seasoned with salt and garlic powder. That’s it!
It's American Cheese not Velveeta.
ReplyDeleteYes it is
DeleteIt is definitely White American Cheese, NOT VELVEETA! I worked there as a waiter in 1981-82, and watched this being made.
ReplyDeleteBoars Head American Cheese!

I agree it was yellow cheese....i loved it so much and was so sad when closed!
ReplyDeleteThe only other thing about this cheese dip recipe is the amount of Red Pepper. El Toro’s was not this spicy hot, but you can make it as hot as you want.
ReplyDeleteThe son of the owner bottled the cheese dip for a while for regional distribution, but unfortunately has passed away. So homemade it is!
